I think these are great changes!
For me personally, the requirement of 500 subscribers and 2000 hours will only mean that I will be able to monetize my content faster.

Literally did a YouTube Survey last night and they asked about this, in the feedback I had to say that it was too high and should be lowered, this is massively huge for everyone!

I can understand the reasoning behind the 4000 watch hours to avoid having to many super small accounts partnered. But as there is a payout threshold I simply don't understand why they don't just make it easier, just like Twitch for example. Have a certain time spent streaming and a small goal to achieve and then you're set. It shouldn't take about a year to reach the ability to be paid

Youtube should lower the bar maybe it will encourage more of us to keep pushing. I was in the partnership program for many years until YouTube decided to demonatise my channel, first of all YouTube wins no matter what we do.

They still run adds even if you're not a partner or not. As creators we need a chance. After getting demonetized I said to my self why am I doing this just to reach a certain high just to get cut down.... sorry If I sound bitter but our time is important and we need a purpose in order to feel we are accomplishing something

Yes, we all know that monetisation will come in some form to Shorts as it has huge revenue potential for YouTube. The leak may be speculation for now, but it is very exciting nonetheless for small creators. The sooner the better...and I hope YouTube does reward original content creators who share good things, rather than the people who just recycle things already circulating on the social platforms. They were the days. I was monetised back then. Then they changed the viewing hours you had to have and I got unmonetised! Bring on some positive changes!

I hope they lower the barrier to entry or help push lower sub count channels more because as someone who wants to grow my channel in gaming, getting views and subs is monumentally hard. It's a competitive market anyway, but getting viewers to videos isn't without a bit of luck from YouTube. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, if the YouTube AI isn't on your side, you won't get any watch time.

We are couple of travel filmmakers from India. We don't understand how removing the monetisation bar makes anything better for us. With the kind of CPV countries like India have we would anyways be making pennies with the current bar of 1000 subs and 4K watch hours. Channels start making significant amounts of money only have they have ~10k subs and maybe hitting 50k+ watch hours. So bar or no bar doesn't make any difference in our opinion. Anyone else feel this way?? or are we missing anything here ??🤔🤔

Hopefully they will change the way to get the partner. For those of us who are starting out it costs us a lot of time and work to be more visible to the rest, and this can give us a good push. Or that there is a way to get more visibility.

It took me 2 years to earn money on YouTube. Don’t give up. Do what you love and be patient.
