Everyone who's just starting their channel, don't be disappointed because of the lack of growth. Just hang in there and keep going. You guys will eventually reach the goal.

The first 1k subs is the hardest. Fortunately, there's Famester to make it easier for you. Aftert the first 1k, you're already kind of 'established' and you start getting consistent views day to day, not by accident.

Hoping to get monetized by the end of 2023. It’s a hard climb, but it’s possible. Keep grinding, guys! We will reach our goals this year! 👍

This is great advice for those who are pursuing YouTube full-time. I have no intention of quitting my job or going full-time on YouTube. I work for a great employer and only work 10 hour days, 4 days a week. Going full-time on YouTube would most likely require working more days per week and possibly more hours per day and I can't commit to that with responsibilities outside of work. Plus I play video games and that niche is extremely competitive so going full-time in the gaming niche would be a huge mountain to climb, and while it's possible to go full-time as a gamer, I don't think that it's possible for me. I'll keep my channel as a hobby.

Yup, this is the best advice you can give to anyone, whether it be in YouTube or not. Just do what you enjoy, and do it well, and success will follow.

I started my YouTube channel at the beginning of 2023 (1/1/2023) and I got 1000 subscribers in just 26 days. My channel keeps growing and on 28/1/2023, I got over 300 subscribers.

But the next day, my views and subscriber count suddenly drop, I only got 8 subscribers each day after that. I don't know why. In the beginning, I thought it was because of my last video but there is no way all of my hit videos dropped at the same time.

If you have any opinions about my situation, please let me know. That would be really helpful for me. Thank you for reading this comment.

2:28 This is exactly the mistake I made. I started as Kerbal Space Program lets play channel targeting space enthusiasts, then pivoted to age of sail ship battles.
From that I took Transport Fever, a transport tycoon look a like. In the end my every video was watched by a small fraction of my audience depending on genre which brought my growth to a standstill.

Now with 12k subs I am struggling to pivot back to space games only, and the sad part is that i get more views and more engaged audience in my second channel with 430 subs where I only target survival games.
Any advice Dan ?

keep in mind, all of the "mistakes" are even more problematic depending on your niche. i get a little tired of this not being addressed or mentioned hardly ever. if you content is not condusive to adsense, becaues of the niche, odds are the products, services, etc you try to push off platform will get you a community strike and cost you your channel. it is a real thing, just be aware. if you are a new creator in a problematic niche, please, become an active part of your niche community, build relationships with others like yourself, hopefully those who have "been there done that" and learn from them. vidIQ and all of these "gurus" do give good general advice AND the vidIQ tools (even free version) can help you learn a lot of improve things BUT, at the end of the day, they are not going to be nearly has helpful as that direct advice from a creator colleague... who will very likely help you with niche specific advice for free.

I struck a sponsorship deal last year - paid for much of my expenses to get the channel going and got my sponsors' name in front of a lot of people they wouldn't otherwise have reached. I plan to look for another one when the current plan I have in place expires.

I just got monetized today after around 3 months of youtube content creation. Your channel was one of the biggest helpers I had when I started out. Thanks for your content <3

I have around 20 watch hours, I have like 400k shorts views tho. I’ve started to promote my videos in my shorts. Is this an ok strategy?

I reached the monitization criteria last year, and was forced to delete most by biggest videos loosing all the watchtime.
I've been grinding for the last 12 months to get back to 4000 watch hours.

NEVER give up and be careful what type of content you create if you want to become a YT partner
