Awesome video. I am small YouTuber, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

About as placements, I absolutely HATE ads that just cut you off from the video. It just feels better when a Youtuber place ads in more thought out places where it feels like it’s APART of the video. I’ll definitely be doing this once I get monetized.

Thank you for clarifying embedded videos on another site!! Had no idea about this. It seems SO difficult to reach this within a year, but I’m not giving up. Also, thank you for saying that about it’s okay to want to be monetized! I feel too many judge over wanting that, but as a stay home mom.
