I recently debated the liberal streamer Destiny in a CSPAN episode that got.... interesting... when callers from the audience were brought into the conversation. We recap some highlights from the Destiny debate in this episode of Brad vs Everyone.

Then, we break down President Biden's new support for tax hikes on most Americans, a bizarre woke tweet, and a hilarious series of TikToks attempting (and failing spectacularly) to explain economics.

About the Delulu tweet, I would argue that the closest thing to the handmaid’s tale would be reducing women to “birthing people” whose only distinguishing characteristic is the womb and their ability to create children. I must confess I haven’t read the book, but that’s the gist I’m getting from what I’ve heard about it.

As a Gen x-er and child of a boomer and a parent of a Millennial and Gen z the complaints regarding spending by today’s young people were very disingenuous. For the boomers they did purchase beer, alcohol and marijuana. As well as a myriad of other drugs legal and illegal. In addition for us gen xers we had the mall and Applebees to spend our money.

What the complainer fails to appreciate is that in the sixties and seventies the ratio of average annual salary to the cost of a home was about 1 to 5 (salary around $6000 and home at $25000). Today average salary is $59000 while average home price is over $500, 000 a ratio of about 1 to 10. With the advent of thirty year mortgages and ridiculously low interest rates has pushed the prices out of reach for most millennials and Gen z. To combat this problem the US government continues to subsidize home sales to individuals who cannot afford the mortgage. This caused the 2008 market crash.

I continue to be disappointed by the resentment between all the “communities “. Boomers and us Gen xers need the millennial and Gen z working at good paying jobs to meet the Social Security and Medicare for us.

😂 That boomer caller reminds me of my mom commenting on how much I paid for my first house. Saying how my parents wouldn't have been approved for so much for their first house. Implying that it meant that I was so much better off financially than they were. No, you just can't buy a livable house for 20 grand anymore.
