Equipment, Scaling, Poise, & Equip Load - Dark Souls Remastered Beginner's Guide (2018) - 08

Poise is an incredibly powerful tool in this game. It allows you to play the way YOU want even better. It allows you to manage your health while you initiate hostilities without fear of getting staggered. Or it could let you play even more defensively with less fear of heavy punishment for getting hit! A good amount of poise to aim for is 46.

Nice work! Changing the status screen in the equip menu was something I didn't find out until my second playthrough, and it's very useful to see whether this or that piece will get under a critical weight threshold. Good job at salvaging a terrible UI! XD

This was fantastic, dude. I am just starting Dark Souls 1 for my first time. I spent 3 hours in the Undead Berg last night. I have to figure out where the Mystery Key I got in ironclad the Boar Room goes, and then I’ll be on my way! unfortunately I killed Solaire, I’m a dick. I have been reading shit advice, apparently. considering restarting but I’ve spent so much time leveling and grinding I don’t want to. So we’ll just have to make it through.
I’ve been trying to understand these stats, an there’s only a “help” button on one of the menus I can find. This has been huge help - thanks!
