Not tight enough. Will not have any effect while under tension. If you do a heavy bench press, your wrist bent backwards. If they are not tight enough, they will have no effect.

You are just wrong here. It needs to be very tight so you have the feeling to take it off after every set and you need it higher up on wrist and sort of on the bottom of your palm.

It also helps with heavy barbell curls which is where i get the most pain and discomfort in personally.

The main purpose of the thumb loop is to be used as a Anchor point when tightening the wrist wrap. And is best removed from thumb once wrist wrap is tightened

Shouldnt you have limited wrists movement with them on. Would it make more sense to wrap it closier to your palm so your wrist cant move side to side and back and forth?
