Saving this for when I hit menopause in 30 years

Thank you for educating us about menopause. Most doctors don’t even acknowledge it. 47 year old post menopausal woman here ❤

Stay away from the sun, alcohol, and sleep at least 8 hours nightly. Get enough water, and take a multivitamin, and calcium with magnesium. Moderate exercise, and apply lotion after a shower, before you dry yourself.

I went through menopause at 29, after having a hysterectomy (medical reasons, best decision of my life). I was already on birth control, so the doctor kept me on it for HRT, as our main concern was avoiding early osteoporosis.

About 5 years in, right on cue, I started noticing my skin was way more fragile than before, and I felt it was losing elasticity. I started putting hydrolyzed collagen in my coffee every morning, and in a matter of weeks I was already seeing improvement. At 39 my skin is just as plump and youthful as ever.

But what I didn't expect was all the additional benefits I started noticing. My joints started feeling amazing (early onset arthritis and joint issues run in the family), my nails started growing at a superhuman pace and were strong as nails (pun intended, lol), and I started noticing a less hair in my hair brush. Like, dramatically so.

So I am a firm believer in collagen. Everyone take it! No reason not to! I even have my parents on it now, and my dad swears he has dramatically less knee pain and doesn't rely on painkillers as much. The stuff works! (Provided you take it regularly)

HRT has been a blessing. I am 53 and my skin looks great. I also
take collagen supplements and workout 4 times a week.

For commenters talking about the scary side effects of HRT, new evidence based medical research is now showing that the benefits far outweigh the risks. Improvements have been made in new hormone therapies that are less risky (breast cancer & heart disease) than the ones available decades ago. Discuss your options with your OBGYN. Not all doctors are up to date about advancements in hormone therapy

You are so right with these recommendations
You are my favorite Dr on this platform. I just bought your book Forever Young.
I’m telling my friends to watch your channel as they are clueless about healthy aging. Thank you so much for all your advice! Some day I may come see you in your clinic if I ever need more invasive treatments

Drink bone broth and eat bones of quail, or chicken if you're a meat eater.
Collagen is in the bones, and the price tag is cheaper than supplements.

Asian women have great skin that ages slowly. My theory is, their diet is broth based.

Adequate Vit C intake is a good idea, too. Scurvy is very bad for collagen production.

Wish I had started HRT sooner. It was a blessing.

I am wondering, my grandma doesn't know all of this skin routine, and it was not invented in their era. She had soft, smooth, and younger skin. No  chemicals, no stressful skin regimen, and no expert advice. I wish I could go back in time.

Prolonged HRT is associated with breast cancer risk, I have seen that enough in my practice. Agree with everything else

What you need to do, dear doctor is tell this to the other doctors so they could relay it to us.
There are so much uneducated doctors out there it’s frightening ……
