You can only live in London if your either a politician, an illegal immigrant, very rich or on benefits.

Dirty city. Car taxes, cameras, 20mph zones, changing demographic, cost of energy. Appalling legal difficulty of selling property. I have recently left and never want to return.

I just moved to Prague as an English Language Teacher 3 weeks ago. Wish me luck. The UK is dead in the water for all but the super rich.

I'm desperate to leave the UK. It really is in terminal décline. I am a healthcare professional and should be fairly easy.

I escaped upon retirement in 2007. Best thing I ever did. What a dump it had become, even then. Shan't be coming back, that's for sure.

I left UK in 1978 and have not spent even one day there in the last 20 years.

Does anyone else find it very odd that migrants are risking their lives to enter the UK, but those of us who are UK citizens are leaving (I left 54 years ago).

I'm a university professor with working experiences in multiple UK universities and institutes including Oxbridge. I left the UK in 2018, since I know that this country has no future.

I simply moved up north in England, where I can afford a decently-sized house. I've had enough of London/south and landlords.

I'm one of the windrush generation's children who are entitled to citizenship in the Caribbean. I moved to Barbados in 2020 and have discovered a large community of others who've done the same, and some more who are planning the move. E.g my sister is an NHS nurse who's moving here next year.

There's also a lot of English digital nomads (people who work from home) here in Barbados, the Barbados government have encouraged it by introducing a Welcome Stamp, where non citizens can live here as long they're employed outside of Barbados and earn a minimum of £37500.

I don’t have much hope for the long term future of the UK. The Labour government will set us back years if not decades and emerging economies will have caught up or surpassed us by then.

There is so much of Britain, "this green and pleasant land" that I haven't seen, and will probably never see in my lifetime, having emigrated to the Middle East in 1988 .
I fear that my up and coming visit to the old country will be one of my last, because so much has changed, and not for the better . Nostalgia and fading memories of the good old days are all that remain of my time in Britain .
Soon, the faded fast colours ( Union Jack), I have stored in my cupboard, will start to rot, their greatness gone forever, just like the " Great" in Great Britain .
I pity those who cannot leave, those who face an uncertain future, ( soon to be) strangers in their own country - remember the labour government want to IMPOSE immigrant quotas on local populations : nearly last call, enjoy the few remaining freedoms you have left, before even THEY are taken away from you

I split in 1972.
Why rent in Japan when you can buy a three-bedroom, detached, two-storey suburban house with garden for five million yen. Less than 30, 000 grand including agent's fee.
