Dumbbell Pullovers for a Thick Chest (MUST TRY)

In this exercise index video I go over the dumbbell pullover. But this is not like the pullovers you normally see me do for back. By pulling the dumbbell further down your body you will engage your chest. Give this a try and let me know how you like it. Just remember to squeeze.

John Meadows is an American professional bodybuilder and entrepreneur with an intriguing story. While John now boasts a successful career as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder and fitness company owner, his journey towards the top was extremely difficult.

Growing up, John never met his father, and his mother died at an extremely young age. This meant John only had his grandmother to take care of him. When his grandmother tragically passed away in 1999, John was left alone without his family to support him.

As the years went by, John continued to face new adversities in his life. During his early days in bodybuilding, John suffered from a rare colon disease. After fighting the disease for several months, his colon burst – almost resulting in his death. Luckily, John was quickly rushed to an emergency room where his life was saved. After several months of recovery, John was finally back on his feet.

Coming back into bodybuilding, John used the very obstacles that almost cost him his life as ‘fuel’ to grow stronger. Ever since he recovered from the colon surgery, John has gone on to become a successful bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and inspiration for many people all over the world.

I’m obsessed with the science of the dumbbell pullover, or just the pullover in general.. The Mountain Dog, RIP, really breaks it down and hits all the major points on this movement. Love how he coached this one so well.

Glad he got winded and talked to us. It was the second best thing that happened this week besides Christmas.

I had been doing it a while on chest days. I kind of superset it with pec deck flyes. But your good advice about how to make it work better for your chest as you come across the top and squeeze is instructive. Thank you MD.

Awesome! Thank you! I always struggled trying to get my chest activated for this exercise cant wait to give this a go. Ever since watching your chest videos ive been adding that extra little decline to my db presses, such an increase in chest activation!!

Good man…plain and simple. Been watching a lot of the upper body videos while working out in my basement with dumbbells and a decent bench. Happy to watch John over and over again.

I like that idea. I'm thinking of switching to a chest and back day, off, shoulders and arms, off, legs, off, repeat to have a day off between and get back to some more old school training while on high volume. I love this idea I can get both at once on a superset and throw these in at the end for 5 sets.
