I'm an analyst with university training in macroeconomics and comparative analysis. The imposition of tariffs per Trump's plan will lead to immediate price increases and fundamental changes in trading patterns, later on. The bottom line is that the American people will experience the equivalence of inflation. But it gets a little worse. I encourage people to look up the term stagflation. This is what the United Kingdom is going through now because of brexit. The United States is now waging its own form of brexit if these tariffs go through.

Trump "promised" that under his "presidency" people could afford to buy groceries again.
When the tariffs send the grocery prices sky-rocketing, let him say that again.

“ When you raise the prices on goods, the price of those goods goes up.”

🙄. I’m no economic genius, but I will assert that the opposite is also true.

The issue with having such a lopsided economy with huge wealth gaps that the rich failed to see is that they are the ones with everything to loose

I'm not an economics expert but I did stay at a Hotel 6 last night and while tariffs will raise grocery prices, deporting the people who actually harvest and produce food will have an even worse affect.

This will be as effective as Donald Trump's wall and his Covid19 response.

All Americans that have yards should grow their own gardens. We are quite capable of surviving without our government. We have been doing it now for the last dour years anyway.

Trump ran on tariffs and deportations and his voters say thus is exactly what we want him to do.

Think of ALL the things America CAN’T GROW, coffee, cocoa, bananas, spices like cinnamon, etc. What Trump is doing should be considered criminal and he has no intention of paying off the deficit with that extra money. He is going to line his own pockets and that of his rich buddies.

The USA, relies on Canadian cude, because US refineries, are incapable of refining shale drilled oil, that is extracted in the USA.
Canadian crude is easily refined in existing American refineries, because they don't have to be upgraded to refine shale crude, which would cost hundreds of billions of dollars to upgrade their refineries.
