Eating spoiled food has molded me into the person I am today.

If not for Alexander Fleming, who wondered “what’s this green stuff?” We wouldn’t have penicillin today.

I ate some cupcakes my wife made. It was after coming back from a business trip. turns out the cupcakes had been sitting on the counter for more than a week becuase she ment to bring them with her on a trip to see family. I thought the colorful spots were some kind of decoration. They were a little gooey on the bottom but again I thought this was another of her experimental recipes. They tasted ok and I didnt get sick. so I got that goin for me which is nice.

When you knowingly eat moldy bread there is a 80% chance you are a college student

I'm here because I was starving and made a sandwitch and the bread smelled moldy but the slices I used had no visible mold on it... Then I learned about mold ROOTS

A very useful answer! I've has arguments with housemates over what is still safe to eat, so it's nice to know some science behind it.

I’ve been terrified of bread mold ever since I saw a documentary about a man that smelled a loaf of bread, got mold spores in his nose, and ended up losing his entire face.

I have an extra sensitive smeller, and can smell mold on peoples clothes and in buildings. Give me a job! Pay me for this useless gift. 🍄

I grabbed a bag of cherries out of the fridge and munched on them in the dark while watching a movie. Wasn't until returning from a bathroom break that I noticed all the fuzz. I lost a few pounds over the next few days. Cleaned me right out. Yogurt diet the next few days to get some good gut bugs growing again.

I'm not the only one who took that the wrong way, am I?

As my nutrition professor always said: "If in doubt, throw it out"

I've been cutting mold away from bread for tens of years, I'm in my sixties, my mom still does it and she's 94 already. I've done this with non molded cheese & regularly do this, in reality I just had some about 2 weeks ago.
