This is a good video. I remember a time I couldn't put my hands together, now I can. It's hard for me to push forward sitting down, due to wrist drop. I can do this better standing up at my kitchen counter. I use a towel to help assist. I have that same table you have in this video. It's been with me since I got home from impatient. I'm a perfectionist also but my therapist said the same thing you said, going off to the side isn't a bad thing, activation is the key. My arm moves to the side and I would get frustrated and discouraged, but now I understand that any movement is good. Part of the limiting factors in my case come from tone/spasticity in the bicep. The bicep is what causes my arm to flex. I use the table to stretch my arm while I'm sitting. I go back Wednesday to get the tools to use for my homework that they assigned me after evaluating my activation a few week weeks ago. They hooked a bunch of wires up to my arm and shoulder and had me perform test, and measured the results on a computer, to see what my brain is picking up. I'm looking ford to see how this goes.
