I just bought a bunch of ultra decking and I was also advised by one of the store associates to not use the plastic fasteners because they are junk, I went with the ones you recommended!

Never had any trouble them Ultra deck goes on 12”center adjacent or diagonal. 8” center on stair treads

I've already replaced 1 joist completely, hand planed down 5' of another and planed the end down of a group of three soldiered together because it is a joint placement.

I am redoing a large deck, so I got the clips w/the 'scrail' gun. I got the Ultradeck Fusion for a picture frame border, but for the main decking I got another type. Apparently the groove is slightly narrower and the whole thing is a nightmare. I would recommend going with a whole different system. I'm about $700 in on fasteners, partially because it was supposed to be so efficient. Now I'm not sure WTF I'm going to do.

Did you have any issues with the tops of the screws breaking off? I had to go back and fix some. I tightened the previous row as I went along. I think the tapping of the board on the next row must have knocked heads off. Thinking of not tightening until I get further away.

Did you have any problems once you got up to the house? The instructions say if you’re going to use the hidden fastener to start at the house, not at the edge of the deck. Curious if you ran into any trouble there.

Aaron, I have uneven joists, not in perfect level, boards are popping out of the clips. Also, holding the pneumatic gun at an angle, still has the installed clip points to low to shove the next bard in, I am having to manually come back and pry the points up to be tall enough to receive the bottom portion of the next board, so other than setting the whole thing on FIRE, any clues, tips, slaps in the face you can offer ?

I used the T-Clips on fusion decking, deck is 18’x18’, I had no problem whatsoever with them.

Sounds like my troubled day = 3 boards only and t clips didn't work. How did you figure out the problem? I may do the same. Please respond, am desperate. THANKS.

Using a scrap piece of deckboard, you can use the Tee clips with no problem. Thats what I did.

Just curious, would you say your gaps are consistent? I noticed trying the t clips they were off by up to 3/16 of an inch on all the boards. Just wondering about your experience with the other clips. Thanks for the video.

Hi. Just a quick question. Whats your spacing on the joists, is it 12”

The problem is with the supplied torx 15 bit that comes with the t clips. JUNK, CHEAP! Get a good Camo Bit. Never stripped another bit or screw!

I’ve used both clips.. the plastic clips are really bad. But definitely shouldn’t have taken 5 days.
