First time I've seen someone install the hidden clips correctly... most people have been screwing the clip then slamming the decking into clip.

Tape or no tape that is the question. Redoing my deck now and the joists lasted like 20 years with tons of snow every year. Only one had to be replaced

I hate those clips. We use the Camo system that angles stainless screws for much better contact without the plastic clips that will fail over time.

This is the perfect application for a drill with the clutch not an impact driver

The correct way is to screw in half way, install the next row of clips half way, and come back to screw this row all the way in.

I thought any ends of boards should always stop on the halfway part of the joyce to prevent any possible warping. I use stainless n galvanized for anything outdoor. Get cheap products then obviously you got a cheap job no matter how great it looks.
