Trex Fasteners

Whether you're installing the rich multi-blend Trex Transcend decking line, the powerful look of the Trex Select Composite decking, or the natural organic looks of the Trex Enhance Naturals decking line; attaching your composite deck boards strongly and securely is the most important factor in any deck build or renovation project.

Keep your composite deck surface clean, beautiful, and blemish-free while creating a strong board to joist connection with hidden deck fasteners for Trex composite decking. Choose from the unseen strength of the Trex Hideaway Universal Hidden Fastener which installs in the grooved sides of the board, color-matching composite deck screws which blend perfectly into the Trex finish, or the coordinating deck plug system which provides the strength of face-fastening with the invisibility of a hidden fastener.

Installing Trex composite decking can breathe new life into an older deck or create a lasting foundation for new construction. Here are some notes to help you choose the perfect deck board
fasteners for your project.

Trex offers three different lines of decking to complete your outdoor space and deliver the looks you want. The Trex Transcend and Select lines feature a solid bottom while the economical Enhance line offers a scalloped bottom of the board.

There are three fastening options for your Trex decking layout: the Pro Plug face fastening system, Color-Matching composite screws and the Trex Hideaway Hidden Fastening system. You're able to use the Trex Hideaway Hidden Fastening system as well as the Color-Matching composite screws on any of the Trex decking lines.

We don't, however, recommend using a Pro Plug system with the Trex Enhance line of decking as the scalloped bottom of the board will not provide enough material for a solid
lasting hold.

How does one REMOVE a composite screw (with two different threads)? I see many videos about how to use/install composite deck screws, but can find nothing on how best to remove them.

We are working on a back porch project, and trying to match a front porch that was installed with color match screws. We were going to use the hidden fasteners, but the trex on the front porch was installed with no gaps. Is it a proper method to install trex with no gaps? This is a covered porch, so there is no water / weather on the decking.

Hi I installed trex enhanced clamshell but when it comes to a step it must be a square edge board now I am aware you can use a router to create a groove on the inside of board which enables me to use a hidden clip but the outside of the board can only be secured with a screw which shows an ugly finish .any better solution to hide the screw???

What keeps the boards from sliding? Just friction? (Wonder if one could replace a board just by sliding it out, and sliding the new on in.)
