I've run into situations like that. Cut the bolt, put the new bolt in from the back of the new alternator.

Every do it yourself machanics and including me should know starting like from the early seventies and still continues were auto makers are making it difficult in hopes people like us will give up working on it and take it to their dealership. I use to have a 2010 Nissan versa and I always do my maintenance work on it but one time one of the light bulbs inside the head light fixture went out I, was going to replace it myself but it got to be beyond my knowledge and I was getting so pissed at it so I ended up taking it to a machanic that knows about it. Look at 2000s Ford vehicles. They couldn't keep mechanics working at the dealer and literally brought in mechanics on the design team for the next generation of cars. Chrysler the same way
