I wish this young lady and her family the absolutely best! Hers is a real life situation that most us Americans find ourselves in. This was a great call

Why did the lady at the end say “you make 2200 a month” like it was a good income??? That’s literally nothing. If your rent is 1000 a month you only got 1200 to use that for other bills.

My question is is how much is their overhead fixed costs expenses like rent payment, or mortgage, and other necessities costs? $2, 200 per month gross income is not much if the rent is $2k monthly and her partner might be paying child support payments to a previous spouse.

Thank you for sharing this video. A few of us, are in a similar situation like hers. Glad the caller explained her dilemma in Ramsey's presentation. Didn't know about the Financial Peace University, interesting.

This was an awesome call. I will say that we may not have been as gazelle-intense as we should have been, but we have been debt-free for years and have a paid-off house, a great emergency fund, kids through college, decent retirement investments, and money in the bank. Now if we can get the investments to go back up, probably in 2024, it would be perfect like it was until 2020.

A lot of advice in The Ramsey show recommends people getting "three to six jobs". However, I always envisioned that only the RESILIENT ones can do that. But what if you are not resilient enough or what if you have mental issues or the inner voices in you saying that you can't? My current job in the call centre has already left me exhausted mentally: I have to deal with mean/rude customers, and team leaders that are not so helpful or nice - the workplace is becoming toxic. I want OUT but I can't because I have debts that I need to pay. I need that one-two days OFF to really recover. I am well overdue for an annual leave, however, work has been busy and they always declined my leave.

There’s another issue here but I’ll just say marry before you carry and make sure it’s with your 1st choice.

Telling her to separate her debt from her partner’s instantly put her $10k ahead! Thought that was great advice and helped put things into perspective. (Nothing against her partner.) ❤

When she said she was a school secretary I thought the girl said, "Thanks what you do for the ghettos". 🤣
