Yup. Was diagnosed with panic disorder this year. 100%, the fear of having another attack brings them on for me. And the fact my first severe attack happened at night while laying in bed to go to sleep has made it a trigger for me to go to bed. I’ve had multiple panic attacks getting in bed to sleep now. It’s terrible. Even though I KNOW I’ll be alright, I still feel like I’m going to die and the fear makes it all worse. 😢

This makes so much sense to me now. I saw my bf have panic attacks for a month straight and the ER kept sending him home with an anxiety diagnosis so I thought it was anxiety attacks. And after watching him go thru it I thought well.. I don’t have anxiety. But I have something. I just told myself it’s stress and worry. I’m thinking I do experience anxiety and tell myself other wise.

The panic he experienced was terrifying. For a year straight he stayed up every night thinking what if i get one and couldn’t sleep. He just recently moved past it. I think the only positive that came out of it is he survived it. So now he thinks if he survived it once he can survive it again

I canceled 2 trips last month for fear that I'd have another panic attack while traveling. I feel this so deeply to my core.

Thats the best explanation i have ever heard as somebody that suffers with hand spasms during a attack its hard to get people to understand that general anxiety is completely different to what im dealing with ❤

As someone who needs a lot of context, this is the best way I've ever heard this explained. I've never had the opportunity to be diagnosed, but the definition of anxiety attacks in this video really explains a good amount for me. 😁

Yes. I literally felt like I was dying. Laying on the bathroom floor, afraid of how much an ambulance would probably scare my daughter, not knowing if I was losing my mind, it was awful.

I had panic attacks when I was in my mid-20’s. They came out of nowhere. The most relief I ever felt was after it passed but then the dread would set it. She is so right when she says you live in fear of the next one. I was able to stop / control mine and I haven’t had one in over 20 years and I don’t fear them anymore.

Yep. Called an ambulance when I had my first panic attack bc I was convinced it was the end for me. I felt the grim reaper standing right behind me. Never felt that kind of mortal terror in my life. My limbs went numb and my vision went all static, and my heart felt like it was about to rip right out of my chest. It felt like a full on medical emergency. And it lasted for hours.

This is exactly what I felt when I was diagnosed. So glad I got my treatment! It was becoming impossible for me to go outside since I was scared of having another one and anticipating it which made the possibility of it happening higher

Never heard it explained like that. Thank you. I have a panic disorder and no one understands unless they have it too.

My panic attacks feel like all the symptoms of an actual heart attack or stroke regardless of how many times they've *only* been panic attacks. Once I accept the "fact" I'm going to die, they begin to subside. It's a helluva thing

Suffered with panic attacks during covid and it got so bad I was diagnosed with PTSD it took 6 hard months of working on myself to understand what was triggering them and my own internal mechanics. I still get them but I have had to buy noise cancelling headphones to block out some of the sensory triggers when it becomes too much.

That is the very best explanation I have ever heard. No one actually had ever explained it in before. This is sad because I took an anxiety support group/ class 4x a year for 3 years ( it took a while for me to get it)
