I get this question all the time during Q&A sessions after my speeches: What’s the difference between anxiety and stress? I’m not a mental health professional, but I do experience anxiety, and I do get stressed. Here’s my take on the difference between the two.

Hey there,

I'm the New York Times bestselling author of six books including The Book of Awesome and The Happiness Equation. I've been lucky to speak at places like TED, SXSW, and Google. After the last few months of unusual behaviour from myself even before covid19. I think I might have general anxiety due to work stress. Things that’s happened: I’ve had a panic attack at work embarrassing myself because I wouldn’t cope, I called in sick the next day from work as I was awake all night with stomach pain but all work did was bug me all day with phone calls which made me break down in tears while I was at a supermarket which is where I was when receiving the calls because I needed to get out of my house. I have issues sleeping but this has become better recently because I falling a sleep listening to audiobook. Also working from home recently has taken out a lot of work stress. Although today I just simply left my house to fill up my car with petrol then return home and I found that I could feel myself shaking but I wasn’t physically shaking. I do worry about when I do return to work to the office if my stress will return. I have a telephone appointment with my GP today? Anything I should ask?
