A video on the difference between Avoidant personality disorder and Social Anxiety would be interesting... they seem so similar!

As an adolescent (16 years old) I was admitted to an adult psychiatric unit. The treatment was degrading and had a devastating effect on my mental health. Ever since then I have been unable to see a doctor without being over come by severe and overwhelming anxiety. I feel perfectly calm in the waiting room. I'm fine communicating with anyone else (though I'm introvert, reserved and not very good at conversation). I do not socialise much since the treatment has left me unable to have a healthy sex life and I'm not interested in having any human relationships behind sexual ones. People often say that I have "social anxiety", which makes me angry and I often correct them. I do not feel anxious in social situations outside of the school environment (particularly in a class room or play ground) as I was bullied, and when seeing doctors (or anyone relating to mental health). Outside of that I'm perfectly calm around people, but uninterested. Am I correct in calling this a "panic attack", and not social anxiety? I visit a counselor back in 2016 and I explained to him how I get anxious alone due to a certain fear (only from around 2015 on wards) and other than that when I see the likes of doctors. I also started having panic attacks every time the doorbell rang after this fear (of being imprisoned or institutionalized) arose. It pissed me off when he called this "social anxiety".

I have a depression with anxiety disorder ( panic disorder) . My doctor says it's mainly the panic disorder. I used to have severe panic attacks where I would throw up 2-4 times a night. This was 15 years ago, at age 22-26. Now it's 1 panic attack per year. Is it calming down with aging ? Is that a thing?
