What Nintendo should do, next to selling it at online shops and retailers, is sell it gated at their own website.
Make it so, that it's limited to e.g. 1 or 2 consoles for each account, and each of those accounts needs to have a Nintendo Switch Online Membership.
Similiar to how the Playtest was only available for Expansion Pass members.
That was, even if you are a scalper, you'd need to have several accounts, each with a NSO memebership, which sounds rather unreasable for 99% of the scalpers.

Not to bring politics into the mix but with my rose colored glasses on I personally would like to think Nintendo is considering the possibility of new tarrifs. Hopefully they are rushing to get the switch successor launched and imported to US retailers in large numbers before said tarrifs could be implemented. Just speculating that the switch 2 will be around $350-$400. A possible 10% tariff increasing the price of the unit and if that cost is passed onto the consumer like it most likely it would be. That's enough to kill the hype and momentum of a new system launch. Nintendo has its hardcore fans that will pay whatever price either way but Nintendo consoles have also clearly established the image of a more budget friendly family product and a price increase like that is enough to get those people to reconsider a purchase....just something to think about...nintendo if your reading this announce the switch2 launch date next week. 10:00
