EPIC Q&A: Atheist Student Begins to Change His Mind in a rare moment of cognitive dissonance giving way to thought. Frank Turk does a brilliant job of patiently walking this young man through his knowledge gaps and errors in reasoning, but most importantly, he helps to guide him one step closer to God.

I love how these young folks are there not to win an argument but to seek truth. And they're humble enough to admit when they see truth.

The level of respect and open-mindedness in that conversation was incredible, we need more people who debate that way

This is such a rare moment. 1) nobody is overly interrupting and 2) people actually listen to arguments of the other side.
This is so unusual nowadays. We need to restore this culture

When you strongly disagree with someone it can be difficult to say "Yeah, you might have a point." But good on him. I'm glad to see there are still people who can have intelligent and mature conversations.

That young man was indeed seeking truth. I pray he finds it

God bless Nathaniel! He was well educated, smart, a good debater and most importantly… was open minded and was seeking the truth. He was respectful the entire time. THIS is what a healthy discussion and debate should look like with two people with differing opinions. Not all the screaming and disrespect and character attacking we see today.

It's so nice to see people having philosophical discussions without shouting or name calling, this is what school should be like

I did not agree with the young man's argument but what made my heart sing was the realisation that, amongst all the "mob-think" and crazy ideas flooding social media these days, there are sincere, respectful and inquisitive young people who are genuinely searching for liveable truth. It takes a lot of courage to stand in front of an audience and submit your core thoughts for scrutiny. The way both Frank and the student handled themselves was brilliant.

I audibly gasped when the guy was like, “You know, I think you’re right” 😂 that rarely happens!

I really like how this respectful dialogue played out. Both the student and the teacher were bringing honest opinions and willing to think about the other's ideas. Good stuff.

I remember thinking that “I didn’t need to believe in God to be a good person” not realizing that’s because God made me with morals no matter if I believe in him or not. I’m glad I learned more and turned away from atheism and toward God. ♥️

Good job Nathaniel, congratulations on your humility - something many people never achieve even into their elder years

Wow. I haven’t seen a student ask such philosophical questions in this way. I’m used to the screaming and not allowing another argument. Props to this kid and the professor. They never disrespected each other and had a nice diplomatic discussion

Why do most people assume that if their mind is changed they’ll look stupid, weak, wrong, etc? To me, this kid looks very intelligent…you can almost see his brain getting smarter as it creates new understanding.

People who are open to considering other points of view aren’t weak and wrong, their confident and authentic.

Such a humble young man! I’m a christian and I have seen very few christians as gentle with opinions as He is

I love what Frank does… He makes people take their arguments to completion and asks where they get those arguments…

Since I’m not a debater, I felt my anxiety level growing. I’m glad there are people that can have these discussions though and not shout.

This literally brought tears...honest expression of what is on his mind and then his heart being pricked. Caught on camera! I am enjoying this content because it helps to prepare me (only along with studying Scripture) as a disciple of CHRIST to have conversations with people who have challenges, concerns, and good questions about GOD and HIS Word. Thank you!!!
