Good is not good because we agree. Its good even if everyone disagree

Essentially, Matthew is a dangerous person because he will side with whoever has the biggest influence. This is the definition of weakness.

Pride is causing him to contradict himself. Humility to the truth is so so important

Wow Matthew is clearly unarmed in this battle of the minds

“Yes morality is based on societal norms”… “of course it doesn’t matter what society thinks”… “well I know better than society so I know l would know it’s wrong” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

He can't accept that his argument fell apart. That is dangerous. Truth is not subjective.

Morality and mathematics are philosophically two of the most fascinating transcendental components of this reality to me. Love these talks.

Right is right even if nobody does it. Wrong is wrong even if everybody is wrong about it. - CK Chesterton

Matthew hasn't thought through his "logic" far enough to realize he's playing both sides of the argument.
I pray he'll lay aside the pride that so easily ensnares all of us at times

I like how you’re bringing old forgotten videos back to life and showing them in quick watchable bits

Hey Brandon, thank you for uploading the videos. I also want to send you a compliment as well because typically I can't stand the commentary of others and wish that they wouldn't interrupt an interview or video to give their opinions, but you actually do a good job and aren't annoying.

Great Job!

The story of my tribe always fascinates me. I am of Efik extraction. My people live on the southern coast of Nigeria and have been there for centuries. They were polytheists even though they also believed there was a sovereign and supreme God over all those other gods whose name is Abasi-Ibom. The traditions of my people were heinous because to sacrifice to and worship the lower gods, they practiced every bestiality you could think of: human sacrifice, slavery, trial by ordeal, burial of live slaves when their overlords died, killing ot twins and feeding of their mothers to leopards. Then circa the 17th century, my people ran into British missionaries who preached a holy and perfect God whose Name is Jehovah and through whose Son Jesus all humanity was saved from sin, and my people surprised the British when they claimed to know the same God but couldn't relate with Him because He was too holy and righteous for man to interact with. This they said explained their reliance on the lesser gods who were more human in their desires and permitted all the atrocities they were engaged in. When the Christian missionaries expounded more on the bible, my people abandoned their lesser gods, their practices and values and went after the Christian God. Today, no one practices the killing of twins or human sacrifice or indeed any of the evils earlier listed. Indeed, anyone who does so is forced to be secretive because they inherently acknowledge that what they are doing is wrong. I've always used this narrative to challenge my Moslem friends to revisit their beliefs and to realize that something is inherently wrong about any god who demands the physical death of anyone who does not believe in him. Something is way off with a religion that believes that anyone can be rewarded with virgins in paradise if they take the life of another human, and so on and so forth. If aboriginals from Africa could work out that math way back in the 17th century, how is it that modern day Moslems cannot!?!?

Matthew took one philosophy course, believed every word, and thought he could storm the castle.

There's right and wrong, there is positive and negative. Two sides to each choice, life or death, truth or lies, good or evil.

Oh dear, this hurts.
I had a subjective morality view for so long.
Even more: I thought if I myself decided something is not so bad, then it IS not so bad.

Awful, right? In my case, it was a protection mechanism to not feel victimiced by a parental figure. If I decide what was done to me is not so bad after all, it does not hurt anymore. Right?

This kind of self lie was so hurtful to my psyche. I had so much depression issues. And it took 20years and having children myself to really realize how deep the trust was broken, how awful what happened really was.

Truth is Truth. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. No matter what we personally decide on it. And if we lie to ourself about it, or in a society, then all we do is hurt ourselves and our society on a very deep, fundamental level. You can't deny Truth and get away with it.

I feel for this young man. I was there... it does nothing good for us to think this way.

As a Christian, I admire Matthew’s boldness and confidence in what he believes. He was able to effectively communicate that in a kind respectful way. He has some apostle characteristics in him and I wish I was more like him in that regurd. We should pray for his salvation because he would be a valuable asset!

I can't even imagine living in Mathews world again, where morality is determined by the masses, It was so awful and confusing. Pray Matthew, and others with that view on morality, find God and peace; thank God for this channel's message and reach; and may God bless everyone in this community for sharing and spreading the word. I'm new here. Good stuff, I love it!
