I have this case and the similar ESR case and I don't know how anyone could recommend spending three+ times as much for this Paperlike folio. The ESR does everything this expensive case does at a fraction of the cost (currently $19 vs $70) including the pen flap magnetically holding to both the back of the case as well as the folded-back cover. The big problem with the Paperlike is that the magnets that hold the Pencil flap closed over the Pencil are not aligned correctly so the flap is barely holding on. Without a Pencil the flap lays closer to the fold, where the magnet is, and it's much more secure feeling that way. The ESR case does not have this problem. And, as you point out, in a mere two months your very expensive Paperlike case is already fraying. Color me not impressed at all.

I’m just wondering if you’ve tested the case with Paperlike’s pencil grips? I’ve seen mixed reviews about whether the folio case actually works well with them. Thanks for the review!

cool video, thats what i looked out for. i needed someone to tell me about it. very well presented. thank you for being honest. just wanted to find a review and now i subscribed!! 😅 i hope they drop the price and bring out more colors

I only really use apples silicon case because it’s been the best magnetic attachment. I actually don’t much like apples because it’s a dust, smudge and fingerprint magnet. But as I use a magnetic stand at home to connect to monitor for “desktop” mode and use a Smart Keyboard Folio at work and school for laptop mode, it really needed to be magnetic so I can easily switch between modes. So I’m excited for this as it’s magnetic but also a different material so won’t be as blah and will feel different too

Thank you for reviewing 👌🏻 Just got an email from Paperlike about it, and considering it. The smart Apple Pencil ✏️ holder is nice to have for sure!

As for durability of the Apple iPad Pro smart covers, I’m not impressed. The outer layer has started peeling off 😔

What iPad model do you have? I always wanted a folio with a latch to cover the pencil. I like my Apple Smart Folio but securing the pencil is tricky. I also read a lot of books and annotate pdfs on my iPad. Does the cover magnetize to the back when you fold it open like a book?

I received the PaperLike marketing release email yesterday and ordered straightaway, price compared to Apple is great and whilst its not in the Amazon cheapo range (hoping the quality is also greater), the Apple Pencil covering was enough in my purchasing decision to grab one. Great review and thankfully it didn't sway my decision.
