Chapter 15 Lecture Video Part 2
Section 15.5 Interesting Aromatic Compounds: Introduction to various naturally occuring and synthetic aromatic compounds.
Section 15.6 Benzene's Unusual Stability: Interpret the heats of hydrogenation as evidence of aromaticity.
Section 15.7 Criteria for Aromaticity--Huckel's Rule: Apply the four criteria of aromaticity to determine if a molecule or ion is aromatic, antiaromatic, or not aromatic.
Section 15.8 Other Examples of Aromatic Rings: Identify annulenes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and aromatic heterocycles.
These are the lectures that I use in my Organic Chemistry II course. The textbook I use is Smith, Janice "Organic Chemistry", McGraw Hill, 6th Ed., 2020, ISBN13: 9781260119107. Some images used in this video come from that textbook.
