Chapter 24 Lecture Video Part 1
Section 24.1 Coupling Reactions of Organocuprate Reagents: Predict the products of an organocuprate coupling reaction. Give the starting materials needed to make a product by organocuprate coupling.
Section 24.2 Suzuki Reaction: Give the products of a Suzuki reaction with the correct stereochemistry. Synthesize both vinyl and aryl organoboranes for use in a Suzuki reaction. Devise a full Suzuki synthesis from starting vinyl halides, aryl halides, and/or alkynes.
Section 24.3 Heck Reaction: Give the products of a Heck reaction with the correct stereochemistry. Devise a full Heck synthesis starting with a vinyl halide or aryl halide and a monosubstituted alkene.
These are the lectures that I use in my Organic Chemistry II course. The textbook I use is Smith, Janice "Organic Chemistry", McGraw Hill, 6th Ed., 2020, ISBN13: 9781260119107. Some images used in this video come from that textbook.

I have made the PDFs for the In-Class Assignments available for free on my Google Drive. If you find these videos helpful, you can send me a Super Thanks for as little as $2 to help support the channel.

This is the best organic chemistry channel that I've ever been to. I'm a fourth year chemistry student taking advanced organic chemistry. We're still in the introduction part of our class and it's why we're still talking about basic chapters. My second year was just in online class due to the pandemic and honestly I never really understood our organic chemistry 1 because of it. So this really helps rekindle the lost knowledge I forgot years go.

I'm also used to your type of teaching since that's how I was taught back in highschool. Where there will be a lesson first and then problem questions in the middle of each part. Too bad in my college years, they don't do that anymore.

Thank you so much!

I was just watching this and realized that I forgot to put in the palladium reagent for the Suzuki coupling on 24.7 part b.
