How to fix your broken car? Take it to the junkyard, take out all your personal belongings, buy a second hand car, put your belongings in and you are done. This guy

So you just essentially replaced THE MAIN part of the vacuum. Whats left to throw away? A bunch of plastic parts? My vacuum stopped charging once, I ordered a new main unit under the warranty and now after a single use the battery is drained and it is not charging again. This entire thing might go back to Costco. Dyson is really really really an overpriced piece of dunk at this moment. I used to have multiple dyson vacuums and they worked fine for many years but now they lowered their standards to the floor and are not worth it at all. Lots of other nice vacuums these days, try them out

I wish Dyson Vaccums weren't so problematic and tempormental. It's insane how high maintenacne they are.

I liked my V6 so much that I put it in my shop to use. I still use it after 6 years. Decided to get the v11 in Costco. After a year the similar problem happened to me like other folks. You press the trigger but you get a blue light. Sometimes it sucks and sometimes it stops for no reason. No pulsing. Called dyson and they sent me the main body.

I thought you meant the vacuum was a friend of yours. 😆

A lot of problems can be solved by regularly cleaning the Dyson body with compressed air! You will be amazed by how much dirt will be blown out all of the crevices.
I have used the stronger machines that you can use to inflate a car tire but these are really making a lot of noise, so, after a few months I bought a handheld compressed air unit with battery, that is charged via USB adapter. Works like a charm and is extremely handy.
Remove the filter from the body also, and blow the compressed air on that end to clean it. I also blow air through my filter, thus cleaning this very regularly.
We have the V11 (SV14) Animal for 3.5 years, and still works perfectly - but you must do this maintenance on it! As we have dogs in the house, where we do daily long walks with, you'll understand that a lot of dirt is coming in the house.

A last thing, do this blowing of compressed air outside the house, as a lot of dust will come out of it.

Wash filter, shake dry. Leave to air dry for 24 hours. If you can't wait 24 hours, hold dyson facing up so air filter is facing the ground, screw on air filter, turn on vacuum for 5-10 minutes. The large volume of air blowing through will dry it faster. Main thing is you don't put it back on holder till it's absolutely dry cause water will travel down. Of course it doesn't hurt to play it safe and just buy a second air filter, when it's time to wash, wash and use your spare. By the time it's time to wash again, you're spare is good to go!

I would be extremely unhappy if my vacuum stopped working after just three years! And replacing the body seems a very expensive option. I have only had one Dyson vacuum, v6, and it stopped working after 2 years needing a new battery. The astronomical cost of new Dysons is ridiculous when they only last three years

I bought my Dyson because other family members had such a good experience with their Dyson vacuums. Unfortunately, my Dyson vacuum works occasionally. I clean the filter, which takes at least two or three days to dry and I empty the cylinder after every use. It doesn’t have very good suction. I had to go and buy another vacuum. If anyone is thinking about buying one of these vacuums read all of the reviews. The price is a deterrent for most people and really they are not worth it. Sorry that this post is so negative, but I was looking up how to troubleshoot and saw this video. Go buy a bissell, they are heavy but at least they work and are not as frustrating as a dyson!

I have a V11 and noticed that the voltage adaptor had come partially out of the wall socket and there were no led's showing anywhere, even when I plugged it back in. So I removed the three small Phillips head screws, removed the battery, pressed the reset button a couple of times and then replaced the battery. When I put the vacuum back on the charging cradle the charging screen lit up and showed that it was charging.

EBay has all the parts you would need for repairing without needing to buy the complete body. Really not hard to disassemble that vacuum completely with a couple of tools and YouTube tutorials. Basic Torx 8 and number 10 as well as a Philips screwdriver.

How about this. Battery is fully charged. Screen functions work however pressing the trigger down does nothing. No motor operations, from either the powerbrush or main motor with no blockage anywhere. No flashing LED on my absolute pro v11.

My V11 Hepa filter was probably still moist when I put it back and it fried the motor. Bye bye 600euros. It is instructed to wash the hepa filltert, wait atleast 24hrs, before putting it back or it could damege the motor. Seem to be the case because this happened to me. So it there a way to fix the motor. I try to let it dry properly first as it is and then opened up, lets see how it goes. That second dry hepa filter is indeed a good idea, if you are in a less than 24hrs 'hurry'. It's 3 yrs old so it might be the 'old' battery lets see, so much 'fun' to trouble shoot this.
