Dyson V11 - how to fix a broken trigger

Our Dyson V11 was not working. Pulling the trigger didn't do anything.
So I stripped it down and took out the Trigger Assembly. I discovered that the red trigger was totally cracked. Apparently this is a common problem on these stick vacuums. I ordered some new triggers, but also tried "plastic welding" with a soldering iron, and it actually worked really well. Stronger than I thought.
