Yes. The implication here (obviously) is that the mindset exists that because your abusers were abused by their parents this then means that your abusers get a pass. And of course this is sad nonsense. The true premise of YOUR abuse is this — your abuser/s abused you DELIBERATELY, with full consciousness that they were abusing you. If this were not true your abusers would have abused you in front of others. Instead, they put on an Oscar winning performance portraying themselves as ideal parents. And when the door shut and you were away from outside view, the abused reconvened. What does this tell us about your abusers intentions??

This is another cases of someone who tries to excuse the narcissist's behavior. According to her, I should have treated my children children the same way. But I didn't. I knew how damaging that sort of treatment was, and I worked my ass off to not treat my children in the same manner.
