Caver Trapped Beyond Rescue | The Horror Story of Neil Moss

In 1965, a young boy named Morris Beatzold crawled into a crevice with a dead end. Forty-four years later, history repeated itself with medical student John Jones, who became trapped upside down inside a narrow passage leading nowhere. Both of these accidents share similar causes, which we have detailed in our previous videos. In each case, the men made the same critical error: crawling headfirst into the unknown. What if exploring underground caves by crawling in feet first could prevent such incidents?

Here at the Faculty of Truth, we unveil the gripping story of Neil Moss, a 20-year-old man who descended into a dark, suffocating shaft with his feet first. The outcome, nonetheless, was not as expected. Neil's journey took a harrowing turn as he became wedged in a treacherous, uncharted tunnel. With every passing hour, rescue teams battled against the oppressive darkness and viscous mud, imprinting a poignant reminder in history of the inherent dangers lurking beneath the earth's surface.

"What if crawling in feet first would prevent such incidents..." How about not crawling in caves AT ALL

Squeezing yourself into such a narrow passes hoping you will be able to get back is the most moronic hobby you can imagine...

There is absolutely nothing in a cave worth dying for. Absolute madness.

I admire his father for thinking about the safety of the rescuers when he requested that recovery attempts not be made.

I don't know why he kept going knowing how narrow it was getting. What the hell was he thinking? Still, RIP, young man.😢

These videos literally take my breath away. Like I can’t breathe as I’m watching these. I watched the one about the dude from Utah and I couldn’t even sleep thinking about how horrible that must’ve been.

If caving is your thing, great, just don't expect others to risk their lives to save you from stupidity

Not even animals call this places home or hiding places.

It's great to finally see some high quality visual aids that let you appreciate the kind of situation these people got into.

Just watching this video and seeing how tight a squeeze many of these cave passages are convinced me to never be insane enough to try caving. Exploring parks, forests and beaches is just fine for me.

Imagine trying to stay calm while trapped and the more time that passes, the more you realize you're gonna die. ugg

I can't really get a solid grip around the fact that you sometimes can get in but be completely unable to get out.

From our vantage point, looking at a beautifully animated cross section of these caves, it doesn't seem too bad. The reality is, these are tiny passages, where it is impossible to turn for the most part and often too narrow to even take a deep breath. The people who actually go into these places first, to map the caves, deserve all the respect they get.

Going in feet first sounds like a neat trick. Although my personal favourite way to avoid getting stuck is to not enter caves in the first place
