Drowned in the Cave of Death | The Gollum Cave Incident

In August of 2005, 5 friends attempted a daring swim into the secret inner chamber of Gollum’s Cave. They called this cave “The Cave of Death”. Unfortunately, that bold risk turned out to be a deadly choice.

Holding your breath for 60 seconds while sitting in your car or easy chair, is much MUCH different than holding your breath underwater - while actively moving about. You dont mess with the water, man.

I can't imagine the absolute terror they felt when seeing their friends' dead body ahead of them, stopping them from getting out. Drowning is my biggest fear, even if it's not the worst way to die.
