IWO JIMA Survivor Tells His Story Of Finding God In War

IWO JIMA will forever be known as one of the most historic battles of WWII. Just as iconic is the image of Marines raising the U.S. flag on Mt. Suribachi. The real life Veterans that served in IWO JIMA are nothing short of American Hero's. As Military Veterans ourselves, there is no greater honor than to sit down with an actual IWO JIMA survivor.

In this podcast you will see that we had just that honor. Marine Corp Veteran, and IWO JIMA Survivor, Don Graves gives us an exclusive sit down interview about his experience in the battle at IWO JIMA. In this podcast episode you will hear how Mr. Graves decided to join the Marine Corp, what it was like on the beaches at IWO JIMA, and how it ultimately lead him to finding God.

We want to thank Mr. Don Graves for this amazing interview and we would also like to thank the folks at Roll Call in Fort Worth Texas for all of their continued support.

Incredible... if only I was smart enough in my youth to fully appreciate the sacrifices they made. They are mostly gone now but never ever should be forgotten! 🇺🇸

So glad I get to call him a good friend, never a dull moment with him. I surprised him with a photo I took of him with his portrait and had it printed well and framed. He LOVED it. Love you Don!! See you soon!

My Grandfather was in the Marines 5th Pionner Battalion. He was awarded the Silver Star for mowing down the Japanese on Iwo with a machine gun after his unit came under heavy fire and suffered some casualties. I wear Zero Foxtrot in his memory and to support others like him.

That was very good. At the beginning when he was showing you items it would have been nice to have had audio so we could have heard what he was saying. I am a veteran- Arm Nurse Corp - Vietnam Era although I never went to Vietnam.
