Immigration has been an issue which provokes strong opinions from across the country - with widespread recognition for the contribution that migrants make to both the economy and the national life.

But some have worried about the added pressures that increase numbers place on already-stretched public services like schools and hospitals.

So, how are people reacting to net migration's numbers? Sky News' Communities Correspondent Lisa Holland reports from Coventry.

The cultural change in Britain due to mass immigration is frightening.

The UK needs to have referendum on illegal migration and migration in general, they did this in Hungary and the people voted overwhelmingly against migration and they've stopped all illegal migration there now.

Britain is too small to take in these numbers. There is a housing shortage, with not enough accommodation for the current population. Even if we built enough houses for everyone, where are the houses going to be built.

Companies use to train people. Nowadays they want to import cheap labour and avoid training costs

We do not need mass immigration legal or illigal, we should of kept with our own doing all the jobs and training our youngsters into a profession that is right for them the UK is an island not a continent.

606, 000 people... That's 40, 000 more than the population of Warwickshire. How is this even remotely sustainable?

The UK economic model over the last 20 years has been to grow the economy through mass migration and public spending financed through borrowing. It is a short term economic ponzi scheme that is unsustainable.

All I hear is everyone saying how ridiculous it is and how are we going to get rid of them. This country is sinking and adding 600, 000 immigrants a year will destroy it. I love my country but we have now thought about selling up and leaving. I came home from 13 hour day yesterday to see gangs of immigrants heading back to hotel with bags of shopping. It certainly won't create good feeling.

600, 000 immigrants enter the UK in one year? I don't understand, I live in Japan, a mono-ethnic country, how can we live together with that many immigrants? Are there that many jobs in the UK? Is the economy in the UK good? Is England a dream country?

Immigration is not simply an economic issue, immigration is changing the whole culture of the UK and we see behaviour acceptable in African and Asian culture degrading the way we live our lives in what was a white Christian country.

The student visa system in the UK has been marred by misuse and exploitation. Shockingly, it is estimated that approximately 50% of student visas in the country are being misused, with individuals using them as a means to work illegally rather than pursuing their studies. One prevalent trend is the involvement of these individuals in the delivery sector, particularly as drivers for platforms like Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Stuart.

This misuse of student visas has serious repercussions. It undermines the integrity of the education system and compromises opportunities for genuine international students who are eager to learn and contribute to the academic environment. Moreover, it perpetuates a cycle of illegal employment, as these individuals work under false pretenses and often receive benefits meant for individuals in genuine need.

The government must address this issue promptly and implement stricter measures to ensure the integrity of the student visa system. By cracking down on those who abuse the system and collaborate with businesses that enable such practices, we can protect the rights of legitimate international students and promote a fair and law-abiding environment for all.
