UK Immigration: 'Take back control' is an easy slogan to create but fiendishly hard to implement

Net migration rose to 606,000 in the year to December 2022, official statistics show. The figure is the highest on record for a calendar year.

It comes despite a Tory 2019 manifesto commitment to "bring overall numbers down". The figure was 488,000 in 2021.

Sky News' political editor Beth Rigby has stressed how "Out of control might" be a better three-word slogan for the current state of affairs that puts huge pressure on the Conservative government that now owns this mess.

Are people starting to get it yet? Things were not bad because we were in the EU. In fact, things were bad before we joined the EU, they got better, then got worse when we left. The things that were bad, however, had nothing to do with the EU. Case in point - the country is not broken because immigration is out of control. Immigration is out of control because the country is broken. It is a subtle but important difference. They key is wrapping your mind around the idea that this country is not, and never has been, perfect, and the reason things are not like this mythical golden age is due to some nebulous external power or [insert minority here]. It is understanding that this country is broken, and has always been broken, and we have been coasting along whispering 'two world wars, one world cup' to lull ourselves into a false sense of superiority.

Things in this country will need to change. WE will need to change. And the longer we put that off with partisan politics or blaming some mythical foreign bogeymen, the worse it will hurt when the changes have to be forced in one big go rather than gradually applied over time. I have been saying this for years, only to usually be shouted down by people who propose insane, populist tactics like burning all our bridges with the people who supply us with food, fuel and raw materials will somehow magic us back to being the head of a globe-spanning empire.

We could have fixed all of these problems while being in the EU. We SHOULD have fixed all of these problems while having ties to the largest continental trading bloc in European history to help us take the strain. Instead we chose to bask in the myth of British exceptionalism. And here we are.

Mass migration is not at all benificial for any country. The most multicultural country in western society is canada which is fair enough because of its size and resources to hold people. UK ministers thought to boost multicultarism through migration however when the communities remians separated and do not indulge themselves into the british culture and does not speak english then whats the point of that migration and multiculturism.
