I was 8 when my uncle took me to see Ferris Buellers Day Off. My uncle was a bit of a Ferris himself. He was never on time, life seemed to come pretty easy to him and found the humour in most things. My uncle was late picking me up and when we finally got into the theatre we couldn’t sit next to each other, he had to sit behind me. That was a first for me! This movie was the first time I thought “I never want this movie to end.” I found it magical, wonderful and I hoped I would have days like this when I became a teen.

I was an ER Nurse, and working triage one night, when I had a bit of unexpected fun. We would call the patients into the triage room by their last names. Well, I had a patient named Bueller that night, and I could NOT resist it, I had to stand at that door and call out “Bueller…Bueller” in my best dead-pan voice! I’m sure the poor guy had heard it a million times, but it was a cherished first and last time for me. 😂

I love how John Hughes always portrayed teenagers as having a full awareness of the world around them and the adults tending to be so narrow minded.

I adore John Hughes it’s beautiful to see how the city takes center stage in the movie. I’m a proud Chicagoan and happy you had visited Minty! 👍🏼

“Bueller, Bueller, An iconic John Hughes movie that continues to stand the test of time. A great outstanding cast headed by Matthew Broderick a real “righteous dude.”

I saw this in the theater when it came out. I loved it so much I just sat there and watched all the credits roll to the very end, just wishing there could be more, then Ferris came out and told ME to go home. I read that John Hughes put that end in to trick the audience. It was Ferris putting one more over on everybody. He said he imagined the audience getting up and being halfway to the door and then there was more movie. They would come back and it would be over. I didn't fall for it, I was waiting for it.

I grew up in Chicago and was about Ferris' age when the movie came out.

Our family dog we rescued in 2017 is named Ferris.

The scene of the museum and that touching music, is a Classic for me, this movie is so 80s, good times.

This movie is near the top of our "comfort movies" list, and definitely worth rewatching whenever we need to cheer up. Thanks, Minty, for featuring this classic.

Nothing at all can beat Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It's one of my favourite movies of all time. Yet another great part of the best decade of all time that just can't be beat or replicated.

Hello Minty! I absolutely love this movie!! The world needs more John Hughe’s movies!! They are always entertaining, fun and somewhere in all that there is a moral. Who doesn’t need and love that right?!! Enjoyed your video! ❤️💜💚

Maybe it's me but the movies were awesome in 1986. And though I missed seeing FB in the theatre, it has become one of my faves. It's just a classic that will never get old.

I do want to point out to Sir Paul (whom I do have respect for) that he can gripe all he wants about "Twist & Shout" and it sounding too "brassy", but it's not his song; it's not The Beatles' song; it's an Isley Brothers song. And for the scene, the horns used to amplify the sound was pure genius and made the song explode. It was perfection. So, there.

As a kid,

Being a teenager looked so cool in the 80s.

This movie is the epitome of the 80s as the parents literally don't know where the kids are; and the kids get away with most everything...

Except Cameron couldn't possibly get away with the car incident.

Cameron reminds me of when we would be in trouble and scared to go home.

I remember it well, back in June of 1986, I had just moved to Bozeman Montana, and got to see this movie on it's opening weekend...I remember thinking that it basically turned the typical standard Teen Movie on it's head, and set itself apart with it's very original screenplay. The movie was well loved by 99% of everyone who saw it back when it came out in the theaters. What a summer that was.

Beeuuller, Beeuuller, bout time Minty!!!

One of the top 3 Hughes Movie. I have heard of this movie and didn’t see it till 1995. Nine years after its release. As a teenager in the 90s it change my life a bit and I thank John Hughes for that.
