"Clark is who I am. Superman is what I can do."

It's a line I'll never forget because it's a great encapsulation of the character.

There's a lot to be said for the protagonists, but to this day the show's version of the Kents, Jonathan and Martha, are who I think of when it comes to these characters. They are, to me, the perfect portrayal.

One of my favorite renditions of Superman, as a kid. Dean and Terri had such great charisma together.

I met Dean Cain at Supanova Adelaide a few years ago, he was friendly and we chatted about the Dallas Cowboys. That was a good day.

Really enjoyed this show. They also changed Perry White into a more fatherly figure for the Daily Planet team and we learnt a lot more about his backstory.

Clark’s parents were awesome in this. How they also filled with Lois when she needed mother’s or father’s advice.

I remember watching this back in the 90's while growing up.
About 4 months ago, I gave it another go and binged the entire series.
I really enjoyed it, but by the time I got to the last season, I feel like it was time for it to end.

Dean views Christopher Reeve as the best version of Superman. I think it shows in his own portrayal. Also....Teri Hatcher was 🔥🔥🔥 back then

Lane Smith as Perry White was my favorite character on the show. He made sure that Clark didn't chow down on some grundage.

Lane Smith as Perry White is my favorite portrayal of the character, and my favorite character on Lois and Clark.

I met both Dean and Terri at NY Comic Con. They are two of the kindest and warmest people you can ever meet. Both are so approachable and Dean chats with his fans. Terri does as well, but I feel Dean does it longer.

I remember seeing this show as a kid back in the mid-90s and it was a fun time.
I mean the way that Teri Hatcher had played Lois Lane to Dean Cain's Superman was pure Timeless fun.

I saw Dean at a convention, he is the sweetest most gracious person I have ever seen. He was so caring and pleased with the people who stood in line to meet him. He truly is a Superman.

This was my favorite show as a kid. I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime and watch it. It was the one show where I didn't feel alone, as I often labeled the weird or different kid. There's a quote from S1:E3 that perfectly sums up why I fell in love with Superman- "It's the idea of Superman. Someone to believe in, someone to build a few hopes around. Whatever he can do, that's enough." I loved that show as a kid, and still love it as an adult. It'll never get old. Met Dean Cain last year, he's just as amazing in person as he is on screen!

My Superman series as a kid was Superman: The Animated Series, but I have really grown to appreciate this one on revisit. It helps to know going into it not to expect it to just be all action but a fun character-driven romcom that happens to be based around one of DC's most iconic superheroes. Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher both had real good chemistry as Clark and Lois as you watched their relationship develop over the course of the series, and I do think that was a large part of what made the series work. I also like how it showcases their work at the Daily Planet with their skills as reporters often making as much of a difference in stopping the villain-of-the-week as Superman himself.

Also if it weren't for this series then readers of the comics would have never gotten Doomsday and the now iconic "Death and Return of Superman" storyline, so good on Minty for mentioning that.
