My first cruise was in 2000 on the retired Carnival Holiday out of the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro). It was perfect ! I had a great time, back then, there were 5-6 people bands. It made the music & party wonderful! I never use my phone, just because I want to disconnect. My first cruise, I lived in California, one-hour away, so I didn’t have to arrive a day early. My other cruises to Jamaica, The Bahamas, I always arrive a day earlier, and sometimes leave a day later. 😌☺️🤣

I would go with someone that has the same mindset as me. I’ve only been on one cruise, over 20 years ago, with a good friend. She was pretty much a wet blanket the whole time!

Have to say I appreciate all the videos that you do. Our fist cruise is April 2023 on Discovery princess and its just me and my husband celebrating our anniversary and his birthday!!
I think our first cruise is going to be amazing and looking at everything that is in this videos we are booked in a club class suite, paid for the wifi and drink package with our cruise price.
So many good points that you have said and so many things we have listend to as well!!

It’s been 40 years since my first cruise. I took an inside cabin. I have taken many cruises since then. Balcony cabins are the way to go these days.

Thank you for your tips! We just returned from a Mariner of the Seas cruise the week before Christmas! I was well prepared for my family and we had a great time :) it was 5 days and as you mentioned, next time we would do a 7 or 8 day cruise!

I agree with some of the things you said about cruising in Alaska! When I went in 2016 I had to buy two jackets because I live in California and did not plan on it being so cold. Also I regret not planning as many excursions and missing some sites!

Your tips are spot on! Our first cruise was on Royal Caribbean with 6 and 14 year old children. We had a great time but it being only 4 nights we were exhausted by the day of departure. I vowed that our next cruise would be longer, with at least one sea day. Since it was just my husband and I for Cruise #2, our travel agent suggested a 7 night Celebrity cruise and it was perfect. We also got there a day early because we learned our lesson when we almost missed our flight for Cruise #1!

I plan to go on my very first cruise hopefully in May 2022 as a solo cruiser as a graduation gift to myself. It's only 5 days but I think it should be enough since it's my prelude to cruising and I don't know how I'll do with the motion of the ocean. Am 53 years old and I went on my first Caribbean cruise on NCL Epic in the beginning of December 2021 I chose a Balcony Cabin and everything was expectacular, but I went with my parents and I couldn’t do many things I wanted to do because they are tire most of the time, but one thing I would not do is spend so much money in the CASINO.
