Easiest way to fix your broken fishing rod guide without replacing it (Watch follow up video too)

You don’t always have to replace your damaged rod guide with a new one once it gets damaged.
Sure, it's the safest way if you want to put the effort in it, but there are other ways which are quicker and cheaper, depending of course in the type of damage that you are trying to fix.
In my case, I had a broken guide which was cutting my line when casting and retrieving, costing me lures and fish.
I just use some epoxy solution and nothing else to fix it and it works like a charm, see for yourself in this video.

I think I’ll take my rod into the tackle shop to have a proper new guide, thanks for making the decision easier...

you could have just sanded the ring and polished it smooth with a strip of 3000 grit sand paper. just cut a long strip with scissors and make it wide enough to fit through the ring then wet it with a bit of WD40 and run it along the inner edge of the ring, back and forth like youre polishing a shoe. you probably run braid on that rod quite often and the ring has worn down to a sharp angle but you can polish that off easily with sand paper and water even.

It works for some rods. But in lighter rods that you use lighter lines in (especially repairing the tip eyelet) the apoxy will eventually fray the line.

I tryed the finger nail polish trick an It did work for me but after about a 100 cast it wore off I’m guessing the water broke it down over time. I wonder how long this trick will work when used heavily

Thank you for the video. My only concern is. You mentioned some light grooving when you really pulled on the line after it cured out. Do you think that minor grooving could lead to another weak line breaking point? Thanks again for your response.

Those few days I’ve been out fishing catching fish while you waited for yours to dry lol

You said it was your favorite rod, why cheap out? Just replace the ceramic guide ring. Fix it right!

To each his own but seriously....IMHO that looks horrible and I wouldn't do that to any rod I owned. 😝

It looks like you're throwing it up, and like you're doing it with your feet. Bad repair.
