Incredibly painful. Mine will be fine for several months at a time, then for weeks will pop out at random when I'm eating, yawning, etc. And it's not just clicking. It's basically the jaw dislocating and relocating.

I only hear a grating sound when moving my jaw in a circular motion, is that simply the bones grating against each other? and could that lead to any problems later on ( no pain what so ever)

Ever since I'm a kid I am able to pop my left jaw joint. Similar to popping your knuckle. All without trouble or pain up until 3 days ago, it started hurting and feeling tender. Any words of advice please?
