How To SURVIVE against the Tiger H1 in War Thunder

The Tiger is one of the most iconic heavy tanks in real life, and it is a very good heavy tank in War Thunder. While this tank had a fearsome reputation in real life it isn't without its weaknesses which you can exploit in game. Recently I had a 1 in a million thing happen to me
I had just bought the M18 light tank and was on a realistic ground battle to see its top speed without any upgrades when all of the sudden a Tiger H1 comes around the corner at that moment I just accepted death and randomly fired a shoot…….turns that shoot pierced his armour on a weak spot and I got the kill still can’t believe I won a 1v1 against a Tiger H1 face to face (American low their is filled with pain and it’s not every day you win a 1v1 face to face against soviet or German tanks bcz unlike their American counterparts they actually have good armour)

When facing an angled Tiger could one pen the lower side plate with the panther 75mm or Tiger I 88mm?
