Sometimes, simply raising the Q on the low cut filter to create a slight boost at the rolloff point is enough to do the trick

Mixing my own rap vocals here:
I’ve found that to achieve the sound that most rappers have now a days you really don’t do any subtractive eq except 20hz and under. And then boost around 10k a couple db after compression. Don’t worry about any slight mud you have and don’t boost the 10k range too much. I always forget my mix has to go through a master which affects dynamics a lot and generally will finalize the sound you’re looking for. Now if your looking for a certain sound then I wouldn’t advice this but if you want clean raw rap vocals (I base my mixing off Michigan artists) then I follow this route.
