This video provides an introduction to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and discusses its goal of understanding and diagnosing mental illness. Then it discusses the changes and improvements of the DSM over its last five editions, and what those changes mean. Finally, it outlines some limitations of the DSM including its much-criticized categorical approach to mental illness.

In the latest edition they admit that mental illness is just a social construct

The DSM IV just like all of them are more fueld by politic's and social norms.

Plus normal is subjective and is an opinion not scientific.
