Lol i hated the smell at first, now it tastes like pineapple banana with a kinda onion taste

here in Indonesia we usually drink water that we pour into the inside of durian skin (where the fruit meat is). There's a saying that it's the way to reduce the smell from our mouth after we eat durian.
So we never dispose the skin right away after we take the meat

From my understanding Durian doesnt have nearly as strong of a smell fresh, it just begins to rot very quickly off the tree

I must be an immune asian because i never smell anything off about durian. It smells sickly sweet and vanillaey

It tastes and smells like natural gas because it has mercaptan in it which is what they put in natural gas to make it smell. The same stuff that makes your pee smell after you eat asparagus.

No onion taste. Has a sweet custard taste and smell is sweet fragrance. Why do people play in that it’s gross?

My local Vietnamese restaurant has a durian fruit smoothie and i tried it one time. I 100% agree with the gas thing. it smelled like straight gasoline lol. But the taste to me was like a vanilla egg custard. Very mild and pleasant
