The way that I cut out sugar that worked for me (and I had it checked by a nutritionist/dietician) was to simply eat a piece of fruit with each meal. And I ate fruit with high amounts of vitamin c in them. I eat 3 meals a day so I eat (1) rockmelon at breakfast with my spinach & mushroom omelette (2) orange at lunch with my tuna salad (3) frozen & pureed banana and cacao icecream at dinner. If I get a craving during the day I will eat a 100gm of frozen blueberries that I defrost and goes warm and liquidy. I have been able to sustain thus diet for 4 years now.

Good work! Sugar and coffee rule the world, but not for the better.

I find the strongest difficulties I have involving processed sugar/added sugar are social related. Already teetotal, soda free, and don’t eat meat or fried foods _(deep fried/shallow fried)._ When I avoid sugary things above a certain frequency I feel almost socially alienated regarding food 😢

Really helpful and great stuff! You broke this down so well!
I was wondering what the benefits of only eating a sugary treat on a specific day like on the 1st of the month vs. giving yourself 1 day but being flexible on when you want to actuallly use that day. For example, you use that 1 alloted treat day you decide to use when a really cool bakery opens and you see something new you'd actually want to eat.
Also, do you only eat one sweet thing that treat day or do you let yourself have stuff throughout the day? Thanks!
