One thing to consider is that many things people may think as "demanding", can be done with just the M3. For example music production doesn’t require that many GPU cores

I've ordered the 16-inch MacBook Pro with the m3 max in the base configuration. It might be a bit overkill for my needs since I'll be using it for school, work, software development, running Windows and Linux, and occasional gaming if it can handle it. This MacBook will be my sole computer, and I intend to use it long-term to ensure it's capable of handling various tasks. Additionally, I'll be using it for 3D modeling purposes related to 3D printing.
