8GB of memory on the M3 model is criminal at that price. The M1 Pro MacBook Pro is still running really well for me, so I’ll be on the lookout for a new computer when the M5 Pro models come out 👀

I guess I'm going to stay with my M1 Air. I was hoping that base mode would have 12GB unified memory (based on the leaks).

I'll be really interested to see the performance differences between M2 Pro and M3 Pro, I've got a M2 Pro 16" and was worried I made a mistake but seeing the M3 Pro with less P cores, and lower memory bandwidth I think the M2 Pro is the better choice. Plus, I love Space Grey and I'm sad they ditched it, why not just add black as another colour like with the M2 Air.

What’s most ridiculous about those chips is that the m3 pro has 2 less performance cores, 1 less gpu core and downgraded brandwich memory from 200go/s to 150go/s according to the previous m2 pro chips

Already ordered the space black M3 max! Looks like the biggest performance upgrade is in the max chip due to higher cores.
A huge upgrade from my intel 16 inch pro. I’m gonna use my desktop a lot less now :)

Compare M3 Max with M1 Ultra. Inquiring minds want to know. In other words, if I have an M1 Ultra already would the M3 Max perform so much better than the M1 Ultra that I would end up saving lots of time processing 3 thousand images in Photoshop to render time lapse video?

My only criticism in all these reviews is that they always offer opinions on base level users and what would be preferable for them, or at the other end content creators, or video editors. I work in the music industry and so many features that might impress at the top end don’t necessarily have value, but there’s no doubt the bottom tier of base level machines are likely underpowered. Would be super great to get honest reviews covering this middle tier, where so many music composers and engineer/producer types need informed info to make the next purchase. Pls and thank you.

I'd like to see an in-depth comparison between the 15-inch Air and the base 14-inch Pro (M3); the prices between the two are quite comparable when matching spec for spec.

I would like to see a comparison of M2 Max, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. For programming side projects and maybe self training on ML which one would be a future proof but still at a good value. Do you really need a 40c GPU for teaching yourself ML?

I ended up going m3 but paid for the extra ram. It’s still cheaper than the m3 pro, still comes in space gray, and u get better battery life. I have my pc for when I need multiple monitors but I think it’s weird for Apple to block out the option to run multiple external displays on the base MacBook Pro.
