Here's the worst part. My friend read that book and he told me Palpatine never even DECIDED to plan out his master's murder, they were celebrating and Plagueis unexpectedly got more drunk than intended and fell asleep and Palpatine was like "oh sweet" and murdered him

Damn that must’ve been a hard decision. On the one hand if palpy keeps his master alive he’ll teach him immortality but he’ll never be the true dark lord of the Sith. On the other he kills him and he’s the dark lord but now he has to basically start from scratch on how to achieve immortality.

It's funny because Bane would probably hate Sidious as he didn't earn the title of Dark Lord by actually defeating his Master, he just waited till he was weak and killed him.

Some might say he used patience and cunning but I doubt Bane would agree.

Still think it would of been cooler if the sequel trilogies revealed snoke as plagus and have him reveal that he found his immortality and the answer was found hidden within both jedi and sith teachings (maybe also hint that that the skywalkers is a key ingredient to make it possible). Also this would give us the chance to have grandmaster luke vs darth plagus the immortal.

Honestly, palpatine kinda had a good reason at the time. Not any rule of two stuff but plagueis wanted him to give a big speech about him and appoint him co-chancellor. Like that would definitely be increadible embarrassing for him and definitely wouldn’t have worked to begin with.

I really think that when the force whispered to Palpatine, it wanted Plagueis dead due to him warping the force too much without them directly being able to influence his death. So most, if not all knowledge was lost in his death, which, I mean I would imagine is what the force wanted in the end.

I think Palpatine did what he did because he wanted to prevent Plageuis from never giving up his power or position as the master sith.
