I always thought I was supposed to press up and out to the side like an Arnold press; I always hated doing it. I think I learned it in Enter the Kettlebell. I’m just going to press straight up from now on. It’s way more comfortable.

Here is a routine i came up with and tried today that kicked my butt.

We aim for 5 rounds of the below - i did 3 and I was done but i was in a place with very high heat and humidity so i also didnt want to risk. But 5 rounds should be exhausting anyway.

Each round:
- 30 push ups
- 20 leg reps where each rep is: 1 squat jump, straight to 1 lunge jump, straight to 1 lunge jump (the other leg). Non stop
- 20 kettlebell snatches (10 each arm)
- 20 kettlebell clean and press (10 each arm)
- 20 swings (double hand, heavier kettlebell)

Let me know if you try it :) an extra one would be 10 pullups if you have a pullup bar

#8 Jefferson Curl mentioned! I'm pro Jefferson Curl but of course, not with a heavy weight unless you've worked up to it.

#6, a thing I thought about was that in odd object lifting (like with sandbags) you have to still maintain that thoracic extended position while having your shoulder blades as far forward as possible. Meaning that one has to disconnect the thoracic extension from shoulders back which is AFAIK not something you can do with kettlebells. You also get this from barbell front squats which require enough shoulder flexibility to put the arms in the proper position.

Lebe, experiencing some muscle pain between shoulder blades (rhomboid strain?) from KB swings. Am I using too heavy a bell or is my form an issue (not packing shoulders down)?

@lebe-stark Hi and thanks for all the videos, I've been learning a lot from you and a few others channels and time after time get the confirmation that you and a few other channels are well thought out, science and practice based and long term health focus education. That's incredibly valuable!

Question, please do answer if you can: what do you think of the kettlebell shape in the link 1 [bellow], that is very different from HS or CS? Is it functional or does it force the user to develop bad habits? Is it actually good? I don't know any different and it's comfortable for now but I don't know i it will be long term and with heavier loads.

I have a 12kg in this shape [link 1] and I'm trying to understand if I should keep with this shape that is cheap, well build, small (I am 169cm with short legs and I really want to start doing doubles), but has an unusual shape; or if I should spend more and go for a traditional shape that is a proven standard, probably a hybrid style with those dips on the side for the wrists for comfort [link 2].

Also, for long term and budget choice: should I go for a second 12kg for doubles or should I save the money and a bit later get 2 x 18kg/20kg?
