Its squeaking because something is no longer in line and the belts edge is rubbing against a rotating pulley shoulder. Nice....until it hops and shreds the belt 20 miles from nowhere. Great tip. Next video : How to turn your radio up and mask that wheel bearing rumble ...

Squeaking belt could be a sign of a problem. Possible bad belt, idler or tensioner

Probably the tensioner is faulty or something misaligned! You need to check the pulleys and probably replace the belt! (That belt looks OLD!) 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

It's squeaking because the belt is worn out and needs to be replaced. I wouldn't personally cover up a noise like that in case in some sense I forget that part is bad due to it no longer making noise.

A squeaky belt is most likely a worn out belt, so just replace!

Doesn't fix anything. On an vehicle with multiple belts it will let you track down the belt that is doing it but it will wear off and go back to making noise.

Problem is always a pulley is either out of round, alignment, or is worn out. Yes, pullies do wear out over time. The belt slowly wears the grooves finer and wears away the V of the guides.

For my belt squeaks I always use liberal amounts of WD40 every day or two it really quickly quiets the belt and cuts down on that nasty corrosion from building up everywhere however I think the EPA has been poking around lately because the neighbors are complaining about the strong WD40 smell in the neighborhood

Wax is a hydrocarbon, like oil. You basically "lubed" the belt with wax.

Day tops. It's wax it melts. Just get a belt and the offending idler or tensioner.

Uhh.. I think the point of this vid is determining which side of the belt is squeaking so that further diagnoses can be done. Not as some commenters believe that this is how to fake a fix. Maybe I'm wrong...

They make a belt dressing spray that works pretty good, but usually if it squeaking there something else that needs to be addressed before it becomes a problem
