“It comes on this nice circular display” - you mean a plate ?

The best places to get Fish and Chips are never in cities. You gotta go to those rural villages that are located right on the sea, where catch of the day literally means catch of the day and not the catch of last night.

I spent 4 years of my life in London, from 1962 to 1966. That was long time ago. Enjoyed fish and chips. As far as I was concerned there was no other food to match it. In those days cod and chips cost 3 shillings. The price is now at least £ 10. I was in my teens then. I am pushing 70 now. How times have changed.

does it bother anyone else how they're ripping into the fish? not cutting it... and leaving behind the bottom part?

Damn, its so heartbreaking each time to see you open up a fish and chips, when you should be cut it to test the crispiness instead of stretching it and eat like it was a trash

“Their forks are made of metal, not rubber. Which was helpful. The ceiling hasn’t collapsed on my head. The cashier didn’t throw a hammer at my groin. The fish wasn’t poisoned AND it even came on a circular display so we didn’t have to eat off the table.”

Stop ripping the fish apart. Just cut it up and eat it.

To me Fish and Chips represents the essence of the UK in a dish. I can think of some of my fondest memories of being in the UK at a table with fish and chips over laughter with friends.
